Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation

I feel the need to apologise for the photos, it pains me to put on photos of my scantily clad face, spots and all! I guess it just illustrates the coverage of the foundation. One thing that completely surprised me was the 'glittery' element to the foundation. Unlike the 'Wake Me Up' it's completely untraceable in the bottle yet because very apparent once blended. You can notice the glitter reflects on the second photo, next to where the focus is, the particles are reflecting the flash. You'll notice they are quite sparse but are pretty large. I find it doesn't transfer to my skin much at all, it's mainly noticeable underneath the eyes. This foundation is very 'glowy' and gives a healthy look, which I like, it's a change from my usual super matte finish. It does feel a little 'tacky' on the chin straight after I apply it, to which I feel the need to cover it in powders to stop it from irritating me any further. Other than that, it settles in to the skin nicely and doesn't highlight any enlarged pores ect. It applies nicely with both fingers and brush, I typically use the Real Techniques Buffing Brush concentrating more on blending the t-zone. Obviously longevity is different for all people. On me, the foundation is definitely there all day, but the coverage reduces massively after around 5 hours. I don't tend to use primer every day for school (Smashbox is expensive for a teenager okay?!) but when used with the Photo Flawless Light it lasts all day or night without a hitch.

Sleek Blush By 3 Palette in 'Lace'

Recently I've been a bit bored of using the same blush shade so I wanted to invest in a few more, very different shades. After asking around on Twitter I must have had Sleek blushes recommended to be about 40 times. I'd heard wonderful thinks about the soft formula which picks up easily and isn't chalky in the slightest! Rather than buying the individual pans I decided to get a palette purely because the shades were what I wanted, and it made storing it much easier. I went for 'Lace' as I thought it would be the easiest to pull of with my skin tone and the shades were a little 'samey' in some of the other ones. The shades are almost intimidating when you first open the palette and they do take a bit of blending, I apply these with the RT contour brush from the Core collection. With the two outer shades you do run the risk of looking like a clown. The palette has two matte shades and a shimmer in the centre.

The orange shade, 'crochet' is a tangerine orange in the pan but transfers on to the skin as a darker orange which unfortunately on my skin tone (medium olive) makes my face look very orange, even when its just on the tip of my cheeks. I think this shade would look great on pale or dark skintones, just not for medium.

The middle shade, 'guipure' is probably the most wearable shade in the palette. The coral pink with gold shimmer has been likened to another Sleek blush, 'Rosegold' which was hailed as a highstreet dupe for the famous Nars Orgasm'. You'll be a glad to know not all of the shimmer transfers, so it doesn't leave you looking like a glitterball.

The final shade 'Chantily' is possibly the most unusual blush shade I've ever seen. Its a hot pink mixed with coral and is very very pigmented, it blends out to an almost-red coral. I'd say if you were thinking of buying this palette be weary if you have very pale skin, as a shade like this could make your skin look red and blotchy, the polar opposite of what makeup is supposed to do.

I know some of the things I've said about this palette would give the impression I dislike it however I am glad I bought this palette as I think its always nice to have a wide choice of blush shades in your collection. A palette like this is a cost effective way of getting a few very different shades for a fraction of the amount it would cost you to buy them separately. Although I probably wouldn't wear these shades on an every day basis (Guipure maybe, at a push) they're the perfect shades for a special occasion. I'd probably wear these blushes with a simple LBD and amp up the makeup, it's a great alternative to a bold lip and would look amazing with a darker eye!

Have you tried Sleek blushes?

Flora By Gucci Perfume

Perfume posts can be some of the hardest to write purely because scents are a very personal thing and it's hard to convey your thoughts through words. Annoyingly 'flora' is the group of fragrances, to which there are quite a few different branch scents. Even more annoying is the fact they don't tell you which is which. The amount of research that has had to go in to this post is unreal. As far as I can gather, the 'flora garden' group is broken down in to 4 different scents, which are tinted in 4 different colours. The scent I have should be referred to the gold plaque, which represents the 'Mandarin' scent. The black plaque caused much confusion at first but is actually the same scent, just different bottle *ahem* annoying and pointless.

It's definitely not one for those who like fruity, light or girly scents such as the Juicy Couture perfumes. Although both floral, you really cannot compare this to something like Flowerbomb which is quite sweet and sickly. It's a very musky scent and for some people might be really overpowering, quite unusual for a floral too. It's hard to pick out the notes in scents in general but is even harder with this perfume. Apparently its top notes are citrus (mandarin) and peony with sweet floral heart notes like rose and base notes of pink pepper and sandalwood. You do get a slight citrus and the 'peppery' almost musky scent comes through too. Gucci describe this as a 'sensual and intense floral fragrance' and I can agree with that. It is an 'older' more 'mature' perfume, odd for a 16 year old girl I know. I'm a bit of a collector and so I love to have a variety of different groups of fragrances, I think it's good to have a perfume for every occasion.

This is one of my favourite perfumes, what is yours?

Primark S/S 2013 Lookbook

It feels like so so long since I last did a Primark seasonal collection post. If your a long term follower you'll know I always used to post each seasons Primark collection pr photos, but I somehow dropped off the line. But I'm back! Unfortunately not with a great one, in my opinion. I'm not a fan of the whole sports luxe thing, especially when mixed with the 90's trend that's been flying around wayyyy too long for my personal liking. I think I'm ready for something new. Regardless, if your in to creepers, hidden wedge sneakers, boyfriend jeans, mesh and retro inspired pieces this is gonna be a great season for you, get yourself down to Primark immediately! The only pieces that jump out to me are the neon orange boucle dress with cutout detail, the gold chain necklace and zebra print skater skirt. Having said that I will have an upcoming post of some individuals shots including lots of accessories for the spring and summer which are much more my style!

What do you think of Primark's Spring Summer 2013 Collection?

Luxury Beauty Wishlist

Am I the only one that keeps a subconscious list of out-of-reach products I WILL one day try? I figured for the first time I'd actually create a wishlist, not gonna lie, it was so fun to put together. The whole process of buying and wearing luxury cosmetics is probably one of the greatest (and rarest) a sixteen year old beauty blogger encounters. I'm sure most of you will recognise a lot of these products above as most are very popular. Those that arent obvious include Nars ligloss and blush in 'Angelika' one of the shades I've been umming and ahhing over for so long. You'll notice theres a lot of Nars as its such a good brand, but so expencive:(. The Estee Lauder Matte Lipstick Crayons are a new release, but I love the idea of them, they're quite "cheap" for a luxury lipstick too! In an ideal world I'd also own every shade of MAC Paintpot and a Shu Umera eyelash curler to go with them. Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer kit is another of those products I never get around to buying, I always walk straight past the BB counter. Another new release and in all honesty a complete novelty is the Ciate Foil Nail Art set. I have the caviar beads and since then I've been interested in all of Ciate's novelty nail kits. These are a little like the foil highlighters but for nail art, they come in lots of colour and pattern combos too!

Whats on your luxury beauty wishlist?
